Bamboo Brands opens International Technology Center in Wageningen
We have news we're proud of: Bamboo Brands is expanding to Wageningen! Starting this November, we're opening our second office in the beautiful Plus Ultra II (Bronland 10F).
Why Wageningen?
On October 14, Bamboo Brands will open the International Technology Center at Plus Ultra II, Wageningen Campus. A place where innovation doesn’t start with an idea, but with proof from real consumer behavior.
Why this center, and why now?
In today’s FMCG market, failure is simply too costly. Margins are tight, consumers are more demanding, and time-to-market is shorter than ever. Yet more than 80% of innovations still fail within the first year—often because decisions are based on intentions and assumptions rather than evidence.
That’s why we’re building our Technology Center in Wageningen—the place where market validation, AI, and hardware/software converge in one continuous flow. With our mockup validator, we test packaging concepts at a very early stage—directly in the supermarket or at home—long before money is invested in production or R&D.
Prototypes, sensors, and test setups generate data that flows back in real time to dashboards and tools. This allows brands to adjust instantly, making the innovation process faster, more affordable, and more sustainable, while avoiding wasted time, money, and resources.
A European hub
The Technology Center positions Bamboo Brands as a central European hub. Through standardized A/B setups and harmonized data, we can test innovations across different countries and compare results fairly. This gives brands an early view of their international potential—without the noise of cultural differences.
Wageningen as an ecosystem
Our choice for Wageningen Campus is deliberate. This is where science, entrepreneurship, and innovation meet. With WUR, Food Valley, FrieslandCampina, Upfield, and Unilever right around the corner, we are part of an ecosystem that both accelerates and deepens innovation.
A concrete vision for the future
What does this mean for our clients? Manufacturers no longer need to wait months or years to find out whether their idea is viable. Within weeks, they receive clear signals from the market to refine their concept and move forward with confidence. This doesn’t just save time and money—it also makes innovation more sustainable.
Our promise
The International Technology Center is not a classic R&D lab. It’s a place where building, measuring, and learning come together in one continuous cycle. Our goal is simple: to help brands, retailers, and investors innovate responsibly—faster, smarter, and with less risk.
